About
Our mission is to sustain resort tax as a funding mechanism in Montana by providing membership support, shared resources for members and prospective new members, proactive legislative monitoring, and advocacy at both local and state levels.
About the Montana Resort Tax Association
The Montana Resort Tax Association is dedicated to empowering resort communities across the state. Through collaborative efforts and shared experiences, we support each other in navigating the unique challenges of resort economies. By fostering a strong network of members, we promote the exchange of knowledge, resources and best practices to ensure that resort tax is an effective tool in helping sustain thriving communities. Our association also plays a vital role in legislative advocacy, working to protect and advance resort tax at both the state and local levels to ensure it remains a powerful tool for Montana’s resort-based economies.
Our Committees
Membership Committee
Finance Committee
The Finance Committee is your primary resource for any inquiries related to the financial operations of the association. If you need information about budget allocations, financial planning, or the association’s fiscal health, this committee can provide clarity. They also handle questions regarding payment processes, setting up financial accounts, or securing necessary insurance.
Communications Committee
The Communications Committee oversees all aspects of messaging, media relations, and public communications. They manage the website, handle support materials, and ensure effective distribution of information. Additionally, they support membership meetings and maintain up-to-date contact lists to facilitate smooth and consistent communication across the association.
Legislative Committee
The Legislative Committee is focused on safeguarding the interests of the association and will monitor the legislative landscape and proactively engage in advocacy efforts. To effectively represent the association’s positions, the Legislative Committee will work closely with lobbyists who can navigate the complexities of the legislative process and advocate on behalf of the association.
